Pagkaing Pinoy ( Filipino Dishes)

Food food food!!!

Basic tastes: sweet, salty, hot, spicy, bitter and sour. Descriptors used in Sensory Evaluation way back Universal Robina Corporation days.I am not adventurous when food is concerned.  I prefer dish on its simplest form same what my mom is doing. Presentation and the place are main factors to entice my taste buds. I cannot eat on places with unacceptable smell and unexplainable ambiance . My appetite becomes less, or I can't eat totally.
I have tried some food establishments here in Dubai serving Pinoy dishes. But still, there are so many.  Just to name a few..

1. BARRIO FIESTA

In the Philippines, i think I haven't tried eating in Barrio Fiesta, perhaps on the "costly" notion. Aside from the fact the Ongpauco dominates this Resto, maybe I dont have sufficent budget that time..:P Still, *fingers crossed*, I am open for the possibility on exploring Barrio Fiesta. Uhmmm I super love the Bagoong in the bottle, so tasty.

Ensaladang Manga
In Dubai, Ensaladang manga (with onions and tomato) and its better half, bagoong alamang.  Only difference is the type of Mango fruit, being served here.  Not the typical, green, crunchy, and the characteristic "asim"of the crowds favorite fruit. Nevertheless, it feels like home ,having this dish part of my menu.In  Pinas, Manga and bagoong served best with Inihaw fish or liempo..yummmy...

Kare Kare
I am not a Kare Kare lover, but mind you guys. This dish is definitely a five star rating, with the bagoong on the side..perfect!!!.Veggies are crunchy and so sweet. Peanut sauce is simply the best...For sure, if i'll come back here, i'll never have a second thought on having this again.

Beef  salpicao with Mushroom

Beef tastes like a typical beef steak in the Philippines, but the sauce made it more special.  Balanced sweetness and sourish note ,tender beef strips you will surely enjoy. Don't forget the mushroom and sauteed onion that will add to your dining experience.

How can I forget the all time favorite, Sago't Gulaman.  mouth-watering gulaman and soft Sagos will bring you back to the old times.  Natural added flavors with the sweetness you and your kids will love.

Barrio Fiesta is located on the Left wing of Burjuman Center.  Aside from the homey ambiance of the resto, the priceless smiles of the crew, One attraction i'll never forget is the handsome crew.  He simply melts my heart away:P
2. SALT AND PEPPER
Located in Karama near Day to Day. One of the most commonly restaurants known for serving Pinoy dishes.

A. SIOMAI

Either Fried or Steamed, a sure hit on the diners table .Juicy meat and the siomai cloth dipped in the soy sauce with lemon and chili...Oh well, i kept asking for more

Most of the occasions  celebrated around the island, this food
Pansit Guisado
is always on the menu..Long life and more servings also. No one will say NO to  bihon noodles ,the green and crunchy veggies, topped with pork, shrimps and squid balls.  Same like Converse, An All time favorite
Originated from Chinese ancestors (history check).

Beef lauriat with Garlic rice and Lumpiang Veggie.  Cost saving meal with value for money at its finest.  Tender juicy beef with sweet sauce topped with green bell pepper. Don't forget the garlic fried rice....PERFECT!!!

Soo yummy..Barbecue with Papaya Atsara as side dish, and a spoonful of bihon guisado will definitely make you feel  home.  Similar on the food sold in Karinderia in downtown Quiapo or Ongpin China Town.

3. PIZZALAND

Pizza lover? count me in..Pizza eater, two hands up...

This resto located in Al Khaleej center (same building where I am working), serves one of the best pasta and pizza in town(my opinion only)

Right blend of spices combined  in pasta, exciting potato curls and aromatic garlic bread is of sure hit to pasta lover like me.
Don't forget the icy iced lemon tea to tempt those taste buds.

4. GOLDEN FORK

One for the most popular restaurant serving Filipino Dishes. In comparison to Aristocrat manila.

Smiling Filipina will make you feel home, before serving  they'll give you a hot towel, to clean yourself.  Minimun of 15 minutes, dish will be served. MEnus are from A to Z. NAme it for sure Golden Fork will have it.

Dessert uhmm.... Leche Flan, Ube, Halo Halo,Mais Con yelo ..Too many to mention but all are Pinoys favorite.

Leche Flan , the smooth texture, egg after taste and creamy sensation that will continue to linger to your heart for quite sometime.
These food experts are just few on those restaurants who supports Filipino dishes. Glad to know that I was never far from home.  Filipino dishes are truly exceptional and will always remind me that  Filipinos are worth dying for!!!.....Bon Appetit!!!!

Keso lang

You can never give, what you never had...

I learned this from a friend,Judy Rose, she told me these words 2-3 days ago . l realized that after the pains in life, sufferings and downfalls, i ought to love myself before I should give love to others.  You can never love a person, if you  never learned how to love yourself.  After all, no one can love you aside from your family but you...

When i was a kid, i believe in love. So ideal and true, without any pains only happiness. On fairytale love story, And they lived happily ever after..

High school, was indeed different.More realistic and exciting.

College, temptation is there..everywhere..Its near to true-to-life situation..Yet, love is more define, matured, sincere and honest.

Relationships are not meant to hurt us. I believe, relationships were made to hone us to become a better person not only for others but on our own. To be more independent instead of dependent. To be more focused and sincere on everything we say ,think and do.

Stand up if you stumble and fall...In the end, it was your fight after all...

Ramadan: Timeout...

August is the Ramadan Month.  When crecent moon started to be seen over palm trees at sunset in Manama, Bahrain, marking the beginning of the Muslim month of Ramadan

Ramadan

Fasting is strictly observed during Ramadan. Food, clothes, night life and as well as office timings are strictly pro-Ramadan.
For most, it is the time to think of what you did for the past year, and re evaluate yourself. Time  to be with your family and more one on  one with Him.

Faith is concrete in Dubai.  Any given time, even in the most busy time of the day, one common denominator is Praying....I commend them for that.

Faith is not  only a word to say, but  an action one has to live, inside and out..

Ramadan Kareem

And it all began......

Dubai as defined by Google- One of the seven Emirate in United Arab Emirates
For others; Dubai is a place of unlimited opportunities with a great financial satisfaction
I thought of Dubai as place with endless temptation.  But of measurable freedom and of higher room for personal development.

It all started here..Everything as in everything...

Arrival date: February 8,2009 via Cathay Pacific.Hmmmm...Amazed by lights up and above....Emotions: mixed, i never thought that it will happen this sooner...I believe that its my destiny to be here, right here...

First day was trivial, Tiring yet informative...with an approximate 3 hours sleep since i arrived here..I think I need to take more rest.

Climax...Wet pillows, crying and sleepless night.... Thanks to technology, it was never that far....

The best way to  end the night is the time for  God..A moment to meditate and evaluate what has happened for the past 24 hours of my life...

I am truly blessed....

Born Again.....

In my 27 years of existence, i think I have lived a boring and not memorable life at all. Aside from the fact that i already have a smart and cute son, Dylan Steven Anakin, Ani who  turns 4 this October 31, 2010,i don't remember anything special.

I was inspired by my good friend <Nicely R. Rom> during high school days in Mataas na Paaralang Carlos P Garcia in Pandacan Manila to do blogs.  Once in my life, i do writing and i am enjoying it..Journalism was once my passion aside from dancing and more-chikka minute (gossip related matters).

After high school, i feel inferior with everybody, I felt like I don't belong or should i say, i secluded myself from my right to enjoy and have a great feeling being with those people.  I know,it was my fault ,when I become a failed student..   The mere fact that I allowed it to happen, i considered it as a failure. Glad to know that there are people who are still willing to lend a hand in those needy times. I finished college after 4 1/2 years.. Octoberian..

After college, i worked with Universal Robina Corporation in Rosario Pasig City. The rest was history...

Come to think of it, How many times did I do out of the town trips?...aside from the field trip in school? or family related matters? I can't blame it that time, because, i don't have any resources to do all those things..

But maybe, if i chose to make a difference..there might have been one...

Its not the end yet...I still have time....To explore the world around me.....

Today is the day, the Re-Birth of  Dianne Ava Grace.....
